World EXPO - Milan 2015

Expo 2015 is the current Universal Exposition being hosted by Milan, Italy. The Expo event will be from 1st May to 31 October 2015. The theme chosen for the 2015 Milan Universal Exposition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. This embraces technology, innovation, culture, traditions and creativity and how they relate to food and diet.

Culture Ireland

Culture Ireland is seeking expressions of interest from Irish artists and arts. Reel Note have been asked, as 1 of 3 bands, to represent Ireland’s traditional music as inclusion in the culture programme to be presented by Ireland at EXPO Milan 2015.

World EXPOs occur every five years and offer a significant international opportunity to showcase the strength of Ireland's creativity on the world stage. The culture programme events should influence visitors’ perception of Ireland and its culture, recognising that culture is a link to developing trade and tourism connections. It is proposed that the culture programme will be cross art forms and reflect strong interest in our history and tradition, particularly music, dance and literature while engagement with contemporary influences is of crucial importance.

UK Participation at EXPO Milan 2015

The UK is participating at the World Expo 2015 in Milan from 1 May to 31 October. Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life is the core theme. It aims to highlight one of the most pressing challenges of our time – how to feed and sustain an expected rise in the world’s population to 9 billion by 2050. 145 nations are participating. The UK is creating a stand-out Pavilion inspired by the role of the bee in the global ecosystem and offering visitors a unique experiential journey. It also forms the platform for a 6 month global programme of UK business events     and cultural activities, linked to the challenge of feeding the planet.

The Ireland Pavilion
